First major contribution to Daughters of Tomorrow, Singapore

On the 24th of March, Atoms to Mountains presented its first major contribution to Daughters Of Tomorrow, as a part of their book launch event "Dreams of our Daughters" to commemorate International Women’s Month. 

A high-impact beginning

• Atoms to Mountains' contribution of $3500 was matched by the Singapore govt Tote Board (https://www.toteboard.gov.sg/), making the effective contribution $7000

• This is enough to support 14 women with emergency housing, 70 women with child-minding support, or 350 women with work transportation or mobile connectivity.

• Our contribution was 11 times the average contribution amount of their overall campaign

• The event was attended by the minister of State for Social and Family Development Ms. Sun Xueling, who emphasized the crucial role of donors in the success of social missions. 

• As part of the event, I had the privilege to meet inspirational women leaders such as Ms. Fannie Lim, Executive Director of DOT, and Ms. Zubaida Ali, the author of the book “Dreams of our Daughters” – who reaffirmed my core values of compassion, agency and believing in the "power of one".

• I also heard first-hand the stories of 4 of the women featured in the book, who were present at the event - which gave me a sense of renewed purpose for my project.
